Personality:

Duku can be best summarized as a peppy individual, often bright and cheery while trying to spread the happiness to someone else. He is passionate about his work with fruit culinary and always puts his all into what he does. This diligence also makes him a reliable helper, as he will often complete tasks demanded of him in a timely manner. Duku is also an ambitious character, often dreaming big and wanting a bit more out of life from time to time. Duku is at times indecisive, however, often hesitating to make a choice, regardless of how easy the choice might be. Duku can also be vengeful to those who insult or harm him, and he will often seek a way to get retribution for the wrongs that the perpetrator has committed. Duku also shows a bit of arrogance on occasion, enjoying success a little too much and letting it get to his head when something fruitful is born from his ambitions.

History:

Duku was born as the second son of a vampire bat father and a fruit bat mother in what was at the time a small household in the Amazon. As he grew up, Duku had a happy childhood, and though he often spent more time with his mother than his father due to his preference for fruit over insects and had to compete for time with his siblings, he was on good terms with his entire family. As the mixed bat entered his late teenage years and started to crave a bit of independence from the growing and busy household, Duku began to explore his native town and discovered an interesting bar that served fruit cocktails and other delicacies. Curious about this café, he began to spend his time there, sampling the drinks there, talking with the friendly owner, and eventually getting a job working as a bartender. The bat enjoyed his time working at the bar, taking pleasure in serving delicious beverages and fruit platters to smiling customers, and slowly began to develop ambitions of one day running a fruit café of his own. By the time Duku was finished with his teenage years, he had decided that he was feeling a bit too cramped in his large household and needed to stretch his wings. After asking his parents for permission, he left his hometown in search of a new place to live, one where he might be able to open a fruit café and bring smiles to the residents there.

• Being a night owl, Duku usually has a hard time getting up in the mornings and will often be a bit irritable at that time. However, a nice cup of coffee with cream and sugar, something that he takes great pleasure in  drinking, quickly reverts him to his usual self.
• Duku enjoys experimenting with fruit recipes, so he will often have a mystery dish or drink every day, that customers should sample with some caution.
• Duku's wings are normally limp when he is grounded, but by grasping the edge of the wing (as seen with his left hand above) and tensing the wing, he can use it for flight, which is often his main means of travel from one place to another if it's just outside walking distance.
• Because of his wings, Duku wears special clothing to fit around his wings. His shirt is similarly designed to a poncho, but the magnets along the edges allow him to secure the sides together through the thin membrane of his wings to shape a shirt around his body. His pants work in a similar fashion in the back, where his wings meet his torso just below the waist.
• Duku's family consists of his vampire bat father, his fruit bat mother, and six mixed bat siblings: one older brother, two younger brothers, two older sisters, and a younger sister.
• Duku is capable of sleeping upside down while dangling from a pole or other object, but since a bed is much more comfortable for him, he only resorts to hanging around to sleep when he has no other, more comfortable options.
